Perth Carport Co build process from site measure to handover

Perth Carport Co

How we build

Five steps from your first call to handover. The process is the same on every build, from a single carport in Joondalup to a triple in Mandurah. You always know what's next and roughly when it's happening.

How we work

One process, every build, no surprises

Five steps from your first call to handover. Same process whether it's a single carport in Joondalup or a triple in Mandurah. You always know what's next and roughly when it's happening.

End-to-end timing depends on the council pathway, the season, and the specific build - the Building Permit is the biggest variable. The build itself is typically a handful of days on site once the permit comes through.

The five steps

From first call to keys-in-hand

What happens, what you do, what we do, at every stage.

  1. 01

    Free site measure

    Step 1

We come to your block at a time that suits you. Walk the site, measure the proposed carport footprint, photograph everything, check the soil and the wall the carport might attach to.

    You

Show us the spot you have in mind, mention anything tricky.

    Us

Measure, photograph, ask the questions that affect the quote.

  2. 02

    Quote in writing

    Step 2

Within a few days of the site visit you get a quote on company letterhead. Line-item breakdown showing structural spec, materials, Building Permit scope, install scope, warranty terms and payment schedule. No 'allow for' clauses.

    You

Take your time, get other quotes, ask follow-up questions.

    Us

Cost the build properly, write it up clearly, hold the price for 30 days.

  3. 03

    Design and Building Permit lodgement

    Step 3

Once you sign, our drafter and structural engineer prepare the full submission package: site plan, floor plan, elevations, structural drawings, engineering certificate. You see the drawings before they go to council.

    You

Sign one application form. Approve the drawings.

    Us

Draft, engineer, lodge under the WA Building Act 2011, field council queries.

  4. 04

    Build week

    Step 4

Footings first, then structure, then cladding. We work to a written schedule that you get on day one. Any change to the schedule (rain delay, material delivery issue) comes with a phone call.

    You

Move cars off the driveway, keep the gate open for the crew.

    Us

Build to spec, tidy the site daily, communicate any change.

  5. 05

    Handover walk-through

    Step 5

On the final day we walk you through the completed structure. Show you the components, explain the warranty, hand over the certifications (mill certificate, engineering certificate, council approval document) for your records.

    You

Walk the build with us. Ask anything.

    Us

Hand over the paperwork, explain the warranty, file a copy our end.

We'd rather you take a week and choose us with confidence than sign on the day and have buyer's remorse two weeks later.

Frequently asked questions

  • Total end-to-end time depends on council processing for your specific build and material lead times. Heritage or character-zone builds typically take longer because of additional design review. We give you a realistic timeline at quote stage based on the actual specifics of your project, not a generic range.

Five steps from call to handover

No surprises, no high-pressure close. Just a clean process with a real timeline.
